I studied for my NEBOSH in 2004 and then took a position as Foreman/Safety Advisor with AE Yates Ltd and after 2 years joined Nacap (Land and Marine) as a Safety Advisor in the wilds of South Wales. My present position at Chevron Limited (Pembroke) Refinery as Projects Safety Advisor, allowed me to complete my NVQ level 4 and attain Grad IOSH status. I attribute much of my success to Jimmy Tongue, my NEBOSH Tutor. Jimmy, himself an ex shipyard worker and college lecturer, was not only an excellent communicator but also offered the support to ensure my success.
